'Young Guns' Burgundy 3 Pack
A three pack from young gun producers making true expressions of the holy region.
1 x 2018 Francois de Nicolay 'Chablis Village' Chardonnay
It might be labelled "Village", but this Chardonnay from Monsieur de Nicolay drinks like a serious Cru level wine. Stoney minerality and elegant oak meet lovely ripe fruit. Tres classy!
1 x 2018 Francois de Nicolay 'Bourgogne' Rouge
This “simple” Bourgogne wine comes from 2 parcels of Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation in the village of Savigny. This wine shows fine and pure Pinot Noir, airy and subtle, offering a lot of fresh fruit. Made from 50 year-old Pinot Noir vines on clay and limestone soil, whole bunch fermented and matured 12 months in oak barrels, then bottled on the property, smooth, light, ENERGY.
1 x 2018 Le Grappin 'Fleurie Poncie' Beaujolais
Beaujolais is one of our favourite regions. The unsung [and affordable] hero of Burgundy, France. Beaujolais is a small region in the South of Pinot Noir Mecca the ‘Cote d'Or’ and is famous for their red wines made from the grape Gamay. Le Grappin is the work of an Aussie chap and French woman who buy fruit from biodynamic growers throughout france. ‘Fleurie-Poncie’ relates to the specific villages within Beaujolais where the grapes were grown. This is a great example of what natural wine can taste like, clean, medium bodied, packed with finesse. Richer than usual Fleurie but still all roses and violets.
