Superblanc Arneis Dozen
SAVE 15% ON THE DOZEN
First came La Peche, then Sunshower, now introducing Superblanc! We’ve been working hard for the last few months to track down a wine to make our first ‘house white’. We’ve aptly named it Superblanc, part marketing, (we think it’s got a real ring to it) and part suggestive of what's inside.
Made using Arneis, a variety whose origin lies in the hills of Piedmont, Italy. This area is made famous for the unique reds of Barolo and Barberesco, but like all Italian regions they need a white to drink when the sun's out - Arneis is their answer.
The golden fruit is hand harvested from Franzi Grab’s certified organic single vineyard in Marlborough, whole bunch pressed with wild fermentation taking place in stainless steel and old oak, lees stirring adds texture and the wine goes into bottle without fining. The result is an aromatic dry white, with complexity and roundness. Citrus and nuttiness at the fore here, with a backbone of florals and stonefruit. Drink this cold with a hot mushroom risotto. Bellissimo.
